The theme of our seminar is: “Bringing public health, social care and urbanity back in – health governance beyond policy subsystems”. With this theme, we aim to reflect on current attempts to re-align public health (policies) with social care, health care and urban planning. We are happy to announce that dr. Suggestions for hotels

There are plenty of hotels in Rotterdam. We recommend the following to you:

-       Citizen M

-       Hotel New York

-       Student hotel

-       Hampshire hotel

Travelling to Rotterdam

The closest airport is Rotterdam/The Hague airport with direct flights from the UK and a couple of other countries: https://www.rotterdamthehagueairport.nl/en/. From the airport there is a bus service to the city center. But most of you will probably fly to Schiphol (Amsterdam) international airport: https://www.schiphol.nl/en/ There are direct intercity trains from Schiphol to Rotterdam Central station and the journey time is 26 minutes. Please note that the Intercity Direct Service requires a supplement between Schiphol and Rotterdam. Information about the Dutch railways (including journey planner) can be found here: https://www.schiphol.nl/en/page/by-train-from-schiphol/

There are people who prefer to travel by Ferry. There is a night- and day crossing between Harwich and Hoek van Holland by Stena line: https://www.stenaline.nl/en-GB-nl The night crossing arrives at 8 am at Hoek van Holland. Due to railway construction work, there is regular bus service between Hoek van Holland and Schiedam, from where you can take bus, tram and metro to the conference location or your hotel. For those of you who wish to travel ‘slow’ but comfortable, we recommend this option!

Travelling in Rotterdam

Rotterdam has an efficient public transport system, run by the RET. There are buses, trams, metro/underground trains etc. See the following link: https://www.ret.nl/en/home/travelling-with-the-ret/trip-planner.html

Looking forward to meeting you in Rotterdam!
